Quantity: 3oz Spices - Brews 3 Gallons
Contents: 3 Muslin Spice Bags with Drawstrings, Cinnamon Sticks, Orange Peel, Roasted Chicory, Cloves
For a Single Serving: Fill spice bag with 1 tablespoon spices. Add spice bag and 1 cup boiling water to a glass tumbler. Steep spices 5 minutes, then remove spice bag. Add 1 teaspoon honey. Stir in 2 ounces of whiskey, rum, or brandy. Top off the glass with boiling water, serving steaming hot with a cinnamon stick.
History: A favorite winter warmer, the hot toddy is sipped as a soothing tonic before bedtime, or as relief to cold, wet weather. It was named for the toddy drink in India, created from a drink of the toddy palm, then carried to Scotland by the East India Company as a hot whiskey drink of water, honey, herbs, and spices.
